Notice on Recruitment Fraud Unfortunately, recruitment fraud exists with scammers offering fictitious job opportunities in hopes of taking advantage of unsuspecting job seekers. Here are examples of common signs of a recruitment scam:
- You receive communication from a recruiter with an email address that is not affiliated with Memorial Hermann. Official communications from Memorial Hermann will always come from an “@memorialhermann.org” email address.
- You are asked to pay a fee or provide your credit card/bank account information when submitting your resume or completing an application for employment.
- You are asked to provide sensitive information (e.g., Social Security Number) through messaging apps or social media.
- You are asked to meet for an interview in an obscure location or someplace other than an official Memorial Hermann hospital or campus location.
- You are asked to hand over to an individual your personal articles (e.g., keys, purse, cell phone) to be stored in a safe and secure locker while you attend an interview.
If you suspect fraudulent recruitment activity, block and report the person on the platform where it occurred. You may also report it to local law enforcement. You can learn more about recruitment fraud by visiting https://www.ftc.gov.
