Patient Access Representative (PAR)

Use computer systems to help patients and family members in person or over the phone

What will I do in this role?
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Obtain and enter patient information into the computer
  • Assist patients through the registration process into the hospital

Where will I work?
  • PAR positions are available in inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic, call center) settings​​​​​​​

Security Officer

Monitor spaces, control access to help hospital facilities stay safe and secure
What skills or training do I need?
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified as a Health Care Basic Security Officer (within first six months of hire)
  • Licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (within first 90 days of hire)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (within first 90 days of hire)
  • Certified in Heartsaver CPR or BLS CPR by the AHA (within first 90 days of hire)
  • Must be able to understand and communicate the English language effectively in both verbal and written form
  • Computer proficiency

What will I do in this role?
  • Monitor assigned areas and conduct patrols in a vehicle or on foot
  • Control visitor access to the hospital through managing the visitor pass program
  • Respond to all security and emergency situations as dispatched or assigned
  • Complete/submit security reports and activity logs during shift

Where will I work?
  • Security officers work in a variety of locations and settings, across every Memorial Hermann hospital and campus

Patient Care Technician (PCT)

Assist patients, contribute to a health care team to provide a safe environment for patients to maximize healing
What skills or training do I need?
  • No previous patient care experience needed for the PCT 1 positions!
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified in Basic Life Support or Heartsaver CPR with AED (within first 90 days of hire)
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions to communicate clearly with hospital staff
  • Ability to perform duties that require prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking

What will I do in the role?
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care, including drawing blook, performing EKGs, bathing, walking, feeding, treatments and assisting nurses with other patient care tasks
  • Wrok with patient care team (doctor, nurse and others) to identify and report patient safety issues
  • Participate in patient care hand-off wen arriving on unit and completing shift
  • Identify and respond to abnormal patient findings or changes in the patient's condition - reporting any changes to the patient's nurse or charge nurse immediately

Where will I work?
  • Patient Care Technicians work in all Memorial Hermann inpatient units and in specialty-care areas, such as the emergency room, intensive care unit and outpatient clinics/settings
