Build a firm foundation
The 12-month program offers a hands-on approach to building clinical skills through a curriculum designed to support the professional development of new nurses.


Eligibility for the Nurse Residency Program includes:
- Nursing Majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Graduates of accredited nursing programs (ADN or BSN) with less than 12 months of experience.
- Possession of a current, unencumbered Texas RN license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

The Nurse Residency Program accepts applications at least three times a year:
In the spring, fall and summer. You'll be able to select your preferred clinical specialty and location in the application.
- May Graduates apply in February and start in July.
- August Graduates apply in May and start in October.
- December Graduates apply in September and start in February.

- Successfully complete the NCLEX prior to the first day of employment.
- Commit to attend and actively participate in the monthly nurse residency classes for the duration of the one-year program.
- Complete all of the core curriculum classes per specialty.
- Complete an evidence-based project of your choice on your own or with a team.
- Attend the Nurse Residency Program graduation celebration at the end of the one-year program.

- Acute Care areas: 12 -14 weeks
- Critical Care/Labor & Delivery: 22 - 24 weeks
- Perioperative Services: 50 - 52 weeks
If your application has been selected, here are next steps:
- Notification that your applicatio has been selected via email (sent to the same email address you used to apply).
- Receipt of an email from support@prophecyhealth.com with a link to complete the clinical assessment. Please complete the assessment within 48 hours of receiving the link.
- Invitation to interview or attend a campus Match Day for interviews.
- If selected for hire, you'll receive an offer letter stating terms of your employment and participation in the Memorial Hermann Nurse Residency Program.
- Submission of all required hiring documents, including Board of Nursing (BON) license verification.
- Communication from the recruiter and manager about orientation and start date.
