Job Summary
Responsible for leading the Transformation Change Office (TCO) in the strategic assessment, implementation, and sustainment of change management efforts related to people, processes, systems, technology, and structure.Plan, direct, and coordinate large to medium change management activities in various functional areas within or across several locations. Provide a change management risk evaluation and mitigation approach to build consistent organization decision-making, adoption methodologies, and change execution. Oversee the staffing resources to be deployed to support organizational initiatives and projects. Create and maintain an education program with tools and methodologies aligned with organizational development by enhancing the culture of change management scaled to impact leadership to frontline staff.
Reports to the Vice President of Talent & Organizational Development and Learning.
Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; Master’s degree preferred (business, related field, or health administration preferred)
Licenses/Certifications: Certification in Change Management required; Prosci Certified Change Practitioner preferred
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Ten (10) years of transformational leadership involving planning strategy, execution, team management, and organizational culture development required.
Minimum of five (5) years of Change Management leadership experience overseeing organizational change management strategy, creating high functioning team(s) driving execution of medium to large scale, cross-functional initiatives, and implementing training programs supporting change management education required; experience in healthcare preferred
Advanced collaboration, change management, and problem-solving skills
Genuine passion for and commitment to implementing changes that enhances the customer experience
Highly knowledgeable about healthcare landscape and current trends in change management
Adeptly lead team while developing their change management capabilities in impacting organizational benefit realization effectiveness
Proven success in building and maintaining executive relationships, creating collaborative stakeholder partnerships, and workforce engagement
Experience leading others in high performance and high-stress situations; manages expectations; calm under pressure
Strong critical thinking skills: ability to develop solutions that address client needs
Excellent communicator who thinks well on their feet and can persuade client to action
Pro-active, can-do attitude
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drives the execution of a system-wide Change Management strategy through developing and implementing people adoption strategies aligned with Memorial Hermann strategic goals.
Serves as a member of Project Governance Committee (PGC) to evaluate large scale projects for change management needs and assigns resources appropriately.
Assesses system-wide readiness for change and makes enterprise-wide recommendations on change management.
Analyzes change management office effectiveness through creating and maintaining a reporting and outcome tracking system to ensure benefit realization of business unit initiatives/projects.
Manages direct reports, change management staffing and/or education consultants, deployed to effectively create a culture of change management with a recognized, standard approach within Memorial Hermann.
Promotes individual professional growth and team development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and sharing industry and change management expertise.
Provides training and coaching to leaders and executives as they lead their teams through change efforts.
Oversees the development of change management training programs and tools.
Builds strong client relationships and is viewed as a trusted advisor by drawing upon methodology best practices to recommend solutions.
Adapts change management solutions to succeed within individual department cultures while maintaining alignment with Memorial Hermann priorities.
Identifies and implements change networks to ensure change efforts are sustained long-term.
Assesses projects to identify change management needs and creates tailored implementation plans.
Effectively collaborates with project management and process improvement subject matter experts to align change management recommendations with the project plan.
Facilitates workshops on change management topics.
Clearly communicates the status of change management efforts to key stakeholders.
Develops complex and tailored communication plans to enhance and support change management efforts.
Plans, organizes, and moderates effective meetings for executive audiences.
Draws upon healthcare knowledge, trends, and experiences to identify and eliminate barriers to change.
Provides thoughtful, timely, and specific feedback to team members and stakeholders.
Works collaboratively with key stakeholders, such as Operations, HR, and Marketing, and Communications team, to successfully manage change implementation.
Develops and uses data/metrics to demonstrate progress.
Supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
